In the age of electronic media
information can be shared faster that ever before. Sadly, all of the
information that is shared is not true.
Recently there have been rumors of
expected violence at the Wayne County Fair. After investigating
these rumors we have be unable to validate any particular threats.
The safety of the fairgoers is the
number one priority of both the fairboard and the Sheriff’s
Office.
If you have attended the fair in the
past, you have seen large numbers of deputies on site to ensure your
safety. In addition to the deputies you see, there are additional
deputies patrolling the grounds who are not in uniform.
Our staff will continue to keep a
watchful eye while you enjoy the fair. If we receive creditable
threats, we will share them at that time.
