Connect with us.

While facebook appears to be the method of choice for citizens to keep up to date with the Sheriff’s Office, we do offer other options. NIXLE is a free service that allows us to send messages directly to a subscriber’s phone in the form of a text message. To receive NIXLE alerts simply send a text message to 888777 and place your zip code in the subject line. You may also visit http://www.nixle.com/ and sign up using e-mail or facebook.

Twitter is another tool we use to send messages to a cell phone. A simple way to receive these messages is to text the phrase "follow waynesheriff" to 40404.

Like circles? We are also on Google+

In most cases the same message is delivered to all of the networks so it becomes a matter of choice as to how citizens receive this information. In each case these services are free to both the user and the Sheriff's Office. Please do remember that normal text messaging rates (by your provider) will apply to messages sent to a cell phone.
